Real Weddings Fiji

Why did you decide to get married in Fiji?
We were looking for a destination wedding on a beach that was easy to reach with little flying time. The location needed to offer something for everyone as there were a few tricky guests that I knew weren’t too keen on beach holidays. Fiji ticked both those requirements off and the range of activities on offer at Plantation Island Resort made our choice easy!

What was the best thing about your wedding at Plantation Island resort?
That’s such a hard question! The staff, the ease of the day (was so relaxing), the setting – did I mention the staff? Between the tour options from the island and the facilities – there was something that catered to all our guests. It also ended up being less than what we budgeted for too, which was a bonus!

How easy was it to arrange your wedding in Fiji?
So easy, I almost was left wondering what I had forgotten to do! The team were just amazing – so helpful with my barrage of questions, sent through the forms I needed to complete and made sure I had passed all paperwork in plenty of time. They also organised someone to meet us at the registry office in Nadi to assist us with processing the paperwork. We would’ve been a bit lost without all their help!

Did your family and guests enjoy your wedding being in Fiji?
I knew most of them would, but it was the ones who aren’t keen on beach holidays (or travelling to the Pacific in general) that we worried about. But I wasted my time worrying about them – they all loved it, some saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. They all couldn’t believe how lovely the people of Fiji were. A handful of us also took the opportunity to explore the mainland. We were blown away by the culture, the scenery and activities available.
