Whether you’re eloping with just your love or bringing the full crew along with you, Queenstown boasts breathtaking views all year round, and there’s alway something to do to keep everyone busy pre and post wedding day!

Summer
With early sunrises and late sunsets you can enjoy the long summer days in Queenstown without feeling rushed or stressed. Take your time touring the local wine growing region of Gibbston Valley, hit a round of golf or check into the spa at a premium resort, and sip cocktails whilst watching the sun go down over Lake Wakatipu. If your wedding planning needs to coincide with school holidays, then summer gives you lots of options. And if you have kids included in your wedding party, they will love the lake front playgrounds (yes there’s a bar right next door – winning!), and all the adventure activities from zip lines to 4WD safaris!
Autumn
This is known as the favourite season of locals, autumn in Queenstown is a great mix of warm days and cosy nights, with vibrant colours covering the hillsides and sometimes even a dusting of snow on the mountain tops. Autumn s a great chance for you to create wonderful memories as well as beautiful and unique wedding photos with a colourful difference. This is another great time of year if you’re travelling with school aged kids as Autumn covers many long weekends and school holidays.
Winter
Is there anything more romantic than roaring fireplaces, mulled wine, and snowy mountain peaks? If you’re willing to brave the colder temperatures then Winter is the perfect the time to take advantage of the shorter days for some epic golden hour wedding photos or even an astro-photography session under the stars! Plus…it’s ski season, so you and your guests can hit the slopes and enjoy the après-ski atmosphere and even soak off the day in
a hot tub with gorgeous lake and mountain views. But don’t expect that winter will be much quieter than the rest of the year, snow lovers and those travelling around school holidays are loyal visitors to Queenstown so booking in advance is still advised.
Spring
It seems like there will always be a fresh dump of snow at some point in early Spring, often followed by warm days…leaving you warm enough
for an outdoor wedding, but with stunning snow-capped mountains in the background! It’s the blossoms and blooms that really impress at this time of year and flower lovers will be spoilt for choice when picking their favourite wedding florals. Similar to Autumn, Spring offers a mix of warmer days with cooler nights and a bright colourful backdrop for your wedding day. The oranges, reds and yellows of Autumn transform to pinks, whites and purples giving your wedding day some beautiful rich and vibrant colours.
