Marry in Paradise

The stunning resort Return to Paradise Beach in Lefaga Samoa was named after the 1953 film starring Gary Cooper and Roberta Haynes.

Samoans have regarded this beach as particularly special and it is nothing short of a spectacular beauty.

It caught the attention of Hollywood location scouts who determined it to be the perfect setting for their film.

The beach then became an iconic symbol of Samoa, deemed so valuable that traditional landowning families divided it amongst themselves.

This ensured that everyone had customary ownership and guardianship over a part of the beach, thus preserving it forever.

Return to Paradise Resort is the only large Resort in Samoa that is Samoan owned and operated. A group of Samoan investors combined with an extended family from the village to build this beautiful resort that feels like a Samoan village on the beach.

This means that everything you spend at Return to Paradise creates profits that remain in the community creating meaningful jobs for the local villagers. This same extended family run the Resort so for them it is personal.

When you stay at Return to Paradise, you are being hosted by matriarch Ramona Su’aPale and her extended family who have been guardians of this special beach for over a thousand years.

Return to Paradise Resort & Spa recently won the supreme award for Overall National Tourism Excellence in 2019.

“This was a huge honour for us as there are some amazing hotels and resorts in Samoa. For us to be recognized in this way is reinforcement that we are doing good work,” says the Assistant General Manager Melanie Toailoa.

Return to Paradise was also a finalist for three other awards this year – Best Deluxe Accommodation, Best Cultural Experience, and Best Bar & Hangout.

The resort has a range of accommodation options including luxury rooms and family villas as well as air-conditioned conference facilities, a wedding chapel and a seven-treatment room SPAradise Day Spa.

The Maeva Honeymoon Suite is situated on the beachfront, this luxury suite is air conditioned and has a private en-suite with plunge pool, and private veranda – metres away from the beach.

The picturesque and ever trendy Rock Pool Bar was also a top three finalist for Best Bar & Hangout in Samoa. With amazing stargazing, whale spotting, and turtles that swim right up to the bar, and an array of unique cocktails and stunning sunsets – the Rock Pool Bar is gaining recognition. “A specially designed cocktail in the Rock Pool Bar facing a spectacular sunset just has to be on your bucket list,” says Melanie.

With its location Return to Paradise Resort has many beautiful beach settings for weddings plus couples can be married in the recently built and named ‘Chapel by the Sea’. The chapel is an beachfront marble chapel sitting at one end of Return to Paradise beach with breath-taking views down the beach.

Featuring crystal chandeliers, stained glass windows, and a front glass wall that can be folded right back, the chapel is absolutely breath-taking. The chapel sits 100 inside with a further 100 removable chairs in the covered courtyard. As there is no back wall on the chapel, this means 200 people can enjoy any celebration in comfort.

The resort is also perfect choice for a honeymoon or a special holiday with loved ones.
