The history of The Hunting Lodge goes back to 1868, so almost everyone in the area has a story or memory to share from over the years. As locals, the current owners’ story goes back to the 1970’s, seeing their children grow up amongst the vines. After acquiring and lovingly restoring the estate, they’re proud to be able to share this beautiful site with you and let the stories continue.
Our unique 80-acre estate is located just 35 minutes’ drive from the CBD in the heart of Auckland’s wine country. Have your ceremony amongst the vines, in front of the historic Hunting Lodge Restaurant, under the oak tree’s or alongside the barn. The multitude of options let you pick your perfect, idyllic spot throughout the estate to perform the ceremony.
Spend your reception in our custom-built barn looking out to picturesque west facing views to soak up every ray of sunshine before the day ends. We have collaborated with Wonder Events to offer you three optional professionally styled, seasonally updated packages for you to choose from including refined rustic, casual contemporary and vineyard elegance. Our professional events team will be with you every step of the way assisting with the management and coordination of your event from start to finish.
We have partnered with some of the best caterers Auckland has to offer to ensure a range of menu options to suit a variety of wedding styles. Alternatively, we can also provide our very own on-site catering team led by The Hunting Lodge Executive Chef Des Harris (award winning chef from Clooney Restaurant). The team use locally sourced ingredients to create seasonal dishes that honour our terroir. We also have a unique 1975 caravan which has been renovated into a stylish bar that can be pulled up to serve refreshments anywhere on site for you and your guests.
