Celebrate Eight’s Tenth Birthday


It is Eight Restaurant’s 10th birthday and that means it is time to celebrate!

Take yourself on a culinary trip around Eight’s interactive kitchens this January. Come hungry with the intention of eating everything, because it is the only way to enjoy a buffet. Simply dine at Eight for lunch or dinner during January 2021 with special prices from Wednesday to Friday and be in to win one of three great prizes:

1.     A delicious interactive dining experience for lunch at Eight for 10 guests 

2.     A sumptuous interactive dining experience for dinner at Eight for 10 guests 

3.     A grand prize of a ‘For the Foodies‘ accommodation package for two including a night’s stay at Cordis Auckland, dinner and breakfast at Eight, valet parking, a bottle of bubbles and a ‘GO Play’ card with access to 200+ discounted activities New Zealand wide.

Eight kitchens features the flavours of eight international cuisines, made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Diners are invited to come in and see the new changes, from a new dessert corner to a new American wood fired grill, and a revamped Chinese Specialties kitchen with an Asian oven.

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Eight Restaurant

2021 is year of the Ox – the second of the 12-year cycle of animals in Chinese astrology. In Chinese culture, the Ox is a valued animal because of its role in agriculture, and similarly in the zodiac, the Ox is seen as hardworking, positive and honest. 

We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate 2021 and Year of the Ox than with a delectable selection of festive Chinese dishes for lunch and dinner at Eight. For lunch expect dishes such as XO marinated chicken, hoisin marinated sirloin, steamed whole fish, sesame and soy Bok choy, chicken noodle soup, melon and grapefruit salad and much more.

For dinner, there are a few extra treats including tamarind glazed pork scotch, Singapore soft shell crab, baby octopus, fried squid, and steamed whole fish along with all of your seafood favourites at Eight. Here you will find the classics cooked to perfection. 

For dessert, authentic treats such as black sesame ice cream, mandarin sorbet, green tea log and mandarin slice will ensure a sweet start to the Year of the Ox.

Cody High Tea by Cordis

Our little VIPs will love their own special Cody High Tea by Cordis served at the Chandelier Lounge. Small bite size delicacies include fluffy scones, mini desserts such a hundreds and thousands sandwich and Coco’s delightful raspberry cupcake paired with savoury treats and a decaf crème caramel iced tea – makes for a whole lot of fun for families.  

When: Available daily, with 24 hours’ notice

Valentine’s Day at Eight Restaurant

Designed around the concept of an interactive dining experience, dining at Eight Restaurant this Valentine’s Day will be one way to impress that special someone and tick something off your foodie bucket list. 

Diners will share the special magic of Valentine’s Day with a glass of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne, a delicious Valentine’s Day chocolate and a stunning red rose on the table, plus all their favourites from Eight’s interactive kitchens with dinner at $179 per person. 

There’s a mouth-watering variety of dishes for vegetarian and halal diners too – simply ask the chefs for advice.
