Hayden and I met at a show in Auckland. Hayden's proposal was simple. One day in 2012 he finished work, came home and finally asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes. We were engaged for about six years and married at Willow Glen Cafe in Gordonton, Hamilton in January 2018 surrounded by friends and family.
My dress was designed and made by Robyn Lee Bridal. The first time I saw it finished, I was in love. It's absolutely perfect and one day I will pass it on to one of my three daughters. I also wore a gorgeous diamante bracelet and beautiful diamond earrings. I wore white heels with diamante detailing.
Hayden and his groomsmen all wore simple white shirts and black pants from Hallensteins as I wanted to keep things simple.
The most special part of my day was having our three beautiful daughters Amy, Rebecca and Kim with us on the day. I also included my late dad in a a couple of ways including having a small photo of him on my bouquet and his photo on a seat during the ceremony.
Lisa Cowen from A Little Bit Vintage designed my bouquet, making it extra special by including my dad who passed away in 2014. Lisa also leant us her car for our wedding transport.
I have a passion for baking so I created my own four tier naked wedding cake. The four flavours were chocolate mud, white chocolate mud, caramel mud and vanilla. I prepped it in advance and then put it together and iced it on the morning of the wedding.
Our day was perfect. Having my family and friends there and being able to catch up with a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time and sharing a laugh was so special.
