Beautiful Black Sticks hockey player and the future Mrs McCaw, Gemma Flynn, appeared on tonight's episode of Say Yes To The Dress (TLC Channel, Sky TV).
An original television series from the United States, the Australian version of Say Yes To The Dress (SYTTD) features brides-to-be who are searching for their perfect gown.
Show host and couture bridal designer Adam Dixon is challenged to find 'the one' for multiple brides featured on every Friday night episode, and at the conclusion of each show, the viewer finds out whether the brides says 'yes' to the dress!
26-year-old Flynn appeared on the show flanked by four support women: her mum, best friend, and two cousins – all of whom offered thoughts and advice after each dress was revealed.
On the show, Flynn asked for something classic, elegant and timeless, saying, "I want to look back in years to come and I don't want it to date".
To the fitting room she went, and then appeared in front of her support panel with three different gowns; the first looked too much like a nightie (according to mum), the second was too "basic" (said one of the cousins), and the third was much more 'on the money'.
"This is the one I really like the most," said Flynn. "It just has that extra special and uniqueness."

So was it a yes? It was a "maybe." As in "I'll say ... maybe... to the dress."
The Olympian mentioned that her budget for a wedding gown was $6000-$8000, however with her upcoming nuptials set to be New Zealand's answer to a Royal Wedding we have no doubt that designers will be delighted to design a couture gown and flag the fee in lieu of the incredible publicity it would return.
