What are you most excited about in the lead-up to your show at 2016 New Zealand Fashion Week?
I look forward to the backstage moment. It is such an exciting time for me, it’s where everything comes together.
What or who inspires your work?
Getting to know so many brides everyday. There are so many sophisticated, confident and feminine women ... and I want to capture their beauty in the dress.
What can we look forward to when it comes to your runway looks?
Our backs are just as beautiful as the front, so don’t miss them on the runway! At fashion week we are only able to show a small number of gowns, so we have selected the styles that represent us the best. This season we will be only showing our signature styles from the couture range.
How many hours would you estimate you’ve spent preparing for the show?
Perhaps close to 300 hours? However it feels countless – it has been something that is on my mind consistently, observing the world for new inspiration.
What fabric and lace will we see on your gowns?
Beautiful light-weight fabric and romantic embroidered laces.
What is your all-time favourite fabric and why?
Silk chiffon – It is very light and moves beautifully. Its beauty comes to life at New Zealand outdoor weddings.
Are there any soft of bold hues that you’re loving at the moment for bridal wear?
I bring in a fresh palette every year. At the moment I am loving the soft hues of lavender, the colour has a royal quality to its character.
What’s your top piece of advice for brides starting the search for their perfect gown?
Be true to yourself. Wear a gown that feels like you. Know what you want and then have it your way, not anyone else's...
What is the first thing you’ll do after the shows are complete to celebrate?
Set off on a long and deserved holiday, just like the honeymoon after a wedding!
