Join our lucky winner Marysa and her fiancé Peter on their journey to their Dream Wedding.
Last week may have been had been relatively stress free, but I have to be honest: this week I really did feel the pressure of trying to organise a wedding in a short time frame while running a business and juggling the pressures of Christmas! Luckily mine was only a brief bridezilla moment, though, and all thanks to being in the best-ever hands, we're once again on track as we make our way towards the day we'll remember forever!
This week I was back in touch with our florist, Victoria from Willoughby Road, to confirm all the beautiful floral accents that will feature on the boat. And in discussion with Ashley from Southern Belle Styling & Events, Peter and I have decided to keep the theming simple but consistent, and to hire some white chiavari chairs for the reception to bring a more elegant feel to the dining area.
I had a gown fitting with Katie Yeung from Hera Couture and I love my dress every bit as much as I did when I chose it. My bridesmaid Emma, who wasn’t able to come last time, was there to support me and we brought my Mi Piaci shoes with us to ensure the gown could be hemmed to the perfect length. Katie made a few more minor alterations, then I was able to pick up the divine finished product on Friday. It's now hanging safely in Peter’s mother's house – away from his eyes, sure, but mainly away from mine, so I'm not tempted to play dress-ups every day!
We're still listening to a lot of music to narrow down our wedding playlist. I want to walk down the aisle to a song that's special to Peter and I, but also appropriate for a boat, and we keep changing out minds and going back and forth. Luckily we still have a bit of time up our sleeves, as we've also started to think about seating arrangements for the reception, but haven't come up with a strategy yet.
On Saturday, we met Sondra from Sweet Bites Cakes, which was such a fun experience. Of course the highlight was the taste tests, and Sondra even gave us some cupcakes to take home. She guided us through various cake styles, which were all exquisitely made, and we settled on a tiered mud cake in three different flavours.
With less than two weeks to go until Christmas and three until the big day, we're feeling like we're nearly on the home straight!
