Say goodbye to fears of an empty dancefloor with our fail-safe guide to getting guests on their feet.
- Go for classics. Hit music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s tends to work best as everyone will know the words and sing along.
- Lead by example. Encourage your bridal party to join you on the floor early on. If there’s a critical mass of about eight people dancing, others don’t feel self-conscious about joining in.
- Get the volume right. The music should be loud enough so that guests can enjoy themselves on the dance floor but not so ear-splitting that they can’t have a conversation.
