Thank you for taking some time to find out a bit more about what we're working towards here at Ventana Creative Collective.
'Ventana' is a Spanish word meaning window. At Ventana we provide a window to the world, offering small-business artisan lifestyle and homeware items that you might not ordinarily see while out shopping in the Wairarapa. Items are carefully curated from a network of artists and designers working both locally and overseas. We have picked items that are unique and that spark inspiration and joy and that we hope will enhance your general day-to-day well-being.
In addition to the shop's offerings, Ventana Creative Collective (VCC) is providing the local community and our visitors with art & craft workshops, IT tutoring, regular art gallery shows, acoustic musical performances and custom group events (birthday parties, hens celebrations, life drawing, etc).
Founder Auriga Martin has had a dream of providing the community with a creative hub where people can come together, be inspired by art and each other and learn and develop new skills. Coming from a 15-year career in software and IT, Auriga is so happy to be returning to her creative roots and using her degree in fine arts from UCLA in the United States.
Auriga's new focus combines the art and IT worlds in a supportive place where she hopes people will form connections, be motivated and empowered and above all else, have fun.
