A Resort With Its Own Marriage Celebrants!

It's a Fiji first for Plantation Island Resort.

What’s better than holding your wedding at a stunning tropical resort?

Having Civil Marriage Celebrants on-hand at your resort – which means you can save time with paperwork as well as having warm faces by your side who are familiar with the location.

In a Fiji resort first, Mr Mr Apisai Vasu (Api) and Mrs Miriama Soqosoqo (Miri) from Plantation Island Resort have attained the honour of becoming official Civil Marriage Celebrants within Fiji.

“Api and Miri are both valued members of our team and this is a great recognition for them to become the first hoteliers to be Civil Marriage Celebrants in Fiji,” said Alex Wilson, General Manager for Plantation Island Resort.

“Miri is also the first woman marriage celebrant in Fiji, which is an amazing achievement.”

Having Civil Marriage Celebrants based at Plantation Island Resort means there is no need for couples to go to the Registry Office on the mainland for their wedding documentation, it speeds up the entire process and is much more convenient for the bride and groom.

We asked Api and Miri what they love most about their roles as marriage celebrants?

"I am always honoured being involved in ‘joining two lives together in order to become One’ as it is a beginning of  a new journey and a new chapter in life," says Api.

"When we introduce ourselves to the couple and their faces light up when we mention that we will be their marriage celebrant," acknowledges Miri.

And their favourite part of the marriage ceremony?

"When couples have tears in their eyes while saying their vows", admits Miri.

"When the couple says 'I do' and sign the certificate of marriage – it seals a journey of a lifetime for two people whom will become one in everything that they do," are wonderful words from Api.

Plantation Island Resort can also now offer weddings at all times of the day and night including Sunday’s and Public Holidays without worrying about logistics. It also means couples can develop a relationship with their celebrant and know exactly who will be officiating over them on their special day.

Couples celebrating their special day choose Plantation Island Resort because of its value for money packages, beautiful location and variety of accommodation types and activities for friends and family on all budgets.

The Resort celebrates over 100 weddings per year catering to couples from all over the world.
