Did You Know You Can Wed in One of Auckland's Most Iconic Buildings?

Looking for an epic wedding venue full of rich history? We have you sorted!

Celebrate your union amid ancient artifacts, relics from the animal kingdom, and some of the best views in town. Shelley Tomkins from Auckland War Memorial Museum walks us through the logistics

Tell us about the reception spaces available to hire at Auckland War Memorial Museum.

There are two options – our Event Centre, complete with a domed glass ceiling and 360-degree views of Auckland’s twinkling skyline and harbour, seats up to 450 guests. For a whole different feel, the dramatic Doric columns and spectacular stained-glass, lead-light ceiling lend a majestic feel to our Grand Foyer, which seats up to 150. Both spaces would work for a ceremony too.

What can you do to make your wedding extra special?

Look into the unique experiences we offer, such as a private gallery tour or a Maori cultural performance.

What are catering options at the museum like?

We work with four accredited caterers: The Kitchen (associated with SkyCity), Urban Gourmet , Collective Hospitality and Dawsons . All bring great experience and quality to the table.

Are couples allowed to have bridal party photographs internally and externally?

Yes, every option can be discussed and scoped. Depending on where inside the museum they’d like to have photos taken, extra security may be required due to the sensitive nature of our collections. Auckland Domain and the Wintergardens are public spaces (and perfect for photos!) but should it rain, the museum provides an excellent back up option.

How can couples out of Auckland plan for a celebration in this space?
We have floor plans and 3D images that can make planning from afar a breeze, plus an events team onsite to answer any questions.

Are year-round fees the same, or do you have special seasonal rates?

    Year-round packages are the same.
