In one of the speediest turn-around times in publishing history, Woman's Day has released the official wedding album of sporting superstars Richie McCaw and Gemma Flynn.
The New Zealand Weddings team were thrilled to discover that hockey star Gemma chose local designer Anna Schimmel to create her "elegant" wedding dress.
According to the coverage in Woman's Day , the dress was made of silk and featured a deep V-back framed with beading. The bride wore a hand-beaded, cathedral-length veil which blew about in the Wanaka hilltop breeze.
More details to note are Gemma's nude Valentino heels, earrings borrowed from Sutcliffe Jewellery, and a tightly bunched bouquet of pink and white roses. Her four bridesmaids wore blush dresses from Moochi.
"I absolutely love my dress and my veil," Gemma told the magazine. "Anna Schimmel is incredible. I never had the fairytale type of vision in my head, but I knew the look and feel I wanted - classic, timeless and elegant."
Her groom, All Blacks legend turned helicopter pilot Richie McCaw, looked dapper in a black (of course) suit by Ermenegildo Zegna.
"When I saw [Gemma] for the first time, I choked up a wee bit," Richie told Woman's Day . "I was blown away. I knew I would be, but more so than I thought. She was beautiful."
The January 23, 2017 edition of Woman's Day magazine - out today.
