Anna & Matt

Anna McCormack and Matthew Todd married at St Peters Anglican Church, Akaroa.

Our wedding style: We chose a classic, traditional theme, and Natalie-Rose from Flowerhead – our florist and stylist – brought it to life beautifully. Built in 1857, the stately home of Blythcliffe made an apt backdrop. We decorated with simple green and white foliage.

My dream dress: I chose my dress when I was six months pregnant, but the week before the wedding, decided I wasn’t actually happy with it. My sister has a great relationship with Kristine from Miss Crabb, so they made me a simple summertime wrap dress. I tried it on for the first time on the morning of the wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier with it. My other sister is also a jeweller in London, so I wore her diamond designs too, which made me feel very special.

Aisle style: My bridesmaids also wore unstructured, shoestring-strapped dresses from Miss Crabb. Midnight blue in colour, they worked well with the boys’ navy Barkers suits.

Capture the moment: Initially, I was reluctant to leave the venue for photos – I had wanted to get them all taken there so we didn’t miss catching up with guests during cocktail hour! However,
I have to admit that when our photographer and wedding planner whisked us away, having that quiet moment to reflect, just Matt and me, was one of the most special points of the day.
