The epitome of boho beauty, cover model Rochelle rocked tousled hair and barely there makeup for our latest cover. Here, beauty maestroLeisa Welch shares how to get the look using Samala Cosmetics and Joico .
“The brief for Autumn’s Into the Wild shoot was ‘natural beauty’. I wanted Rochelle to have an air of enchantment, but her look also needed to sit naturally within the rugged terrain of Barrier.
We started with her hair – following a blast of Joico’s Structure Beach Texture Spray ($24), I roughly dried Rochelle’s tresses, and introduced a few light curls using a GHD straightener. For a quintessentially boho touch, I plaited a side section then tied it into a loose pony tail. To finish the look, we created extra texture using Joico Structure Dust ($28) – Barrier’s light rain and wind did the rest!
“We kept makeup to a minimum, using a light foundation and concealer only where needed to even up skin tone, followed by a soft peach blush applied to the apples of her cheeks and a dusting of setting powder. To enhance Rochelle’s deep brown eyes, I feathered a soft taupe shadow around the lids, which blended seamlessly into a matte bronzer up to the brow. The bronzer also created a sun-kissed look on her cheeks, forehead and chin.
We finished her eye look with two coats of black mascara, softly defining and filling her brows with powder. Dabbing a soft peach lipstick onto Rochelle’s pout made for an uber-femme finishing touch.”
