Stay up to date with all that’s new and noted in the world of weddings – we give you the lowdown on this week’s bridal buzz.

Brush up
With an appearance that’s uncannily similar to that of a toothbrush family, we weren’t quite sure what to make of MAC’s masterclass brush collection when we first laid eyes on it. When you’re used to a neat fan of fibres sprouting elegantly from a slim stem, that spoon-like handle and dense bristle oval poses a nerve-wracking sight to creatures of cosmetic habit. Now that we’ve heard the science, however, you can consider us converts.  The density of the velvet-soft brush means less product sinks between the bristles (read: you’ll go through foundation at a more purse-friendly pace) and the ergonomically designed handle makes for extra precise application. The three-piece collection hits shelves early next month – you can guarantee we’ll be first in line.

All mapped out
Travel! It’s our favourite wedding theme of the moment, and what better way to incorporate it into your celebration than with a quirky array of oh-so-nostalgic maps. In case you haven’t heard, the once navigating tool has found new life as the season’s most stylish wedding motif. Dish out badges as favours or in lieu of a guest book, have people scrawl their well wishes atop a fave holiday spot in a vintage atlas.

Seeing red
It’s like our favourite designers had romance top of mind when they selected their new-season fabrics. Latest creations have rustled onto racks in shades that squeal ‘I’d make the perfect bridesmaid dress!’ – ruby red, marshmallow pink and searing crimson – pretty, pretty and more pretty. Gather your ‘maids and make a beeline for the shops because these blushing beauties will be straight out the doors.

Honeymoon hotspot
Picture this: wandering a maze of cocoa trails, enjoying a soothing Cocoa Juvenate spa treatment and sipping of fresh cacao bellini as the sun goes down. In a weekend that’s as cocoa-fuelled as they get, it seemed only appropriate we celebrate our fave (chocolatey) honeymoon spot. Set high amongst the rainforest and sun-dappled cocoa groves of Saint Lucia’s oldest plantation, Hotel Chocolat Boucan of Design Hotels calls to loved-up sweet tooths the world over.
