Say goodbye to fears of an empty dancefloor with our fail-safe guide to getting guests on their feet.

  1. Go for classics. Hit music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s tends to work best as everyone will know the words and sing along.
  2. Lead by example. Encourage your bridal party to join you on the floor early on. If there’s a critical mass of about eight people dancing, others don’t feel self-conscious about joining in.
  3. Get the volume right. The music should be loud enough so that guests can enjoy themselves on the dance floor but not so ear-splitting that they can’t have a conversation.
