When it comes to creating the overall look you desire for your bridal party, it can be stressful co-ordinating styles and colour schemes. Brides on Thorndon founder Jillian Forsyth tells about the benefit of working with a boutique that caters for all needs.
How does Brides on Thorndon differ from other boutiques?
We cater not only for the bride, but also for the groom and bridesmaids, coordinating each ensemble with the style, colour palette and theme of the wedding. Our grooms' hire service offers a full groom's ensemble for only $200 with every gown ordered.
Must a wedding gown be white?
Definitely not! Various colour options are available in the majority of the gowns we stock. Shades include champagne, pearl, silver and soft gold, and some gowns can be purchased in bold colours too.
Which ranges do you have in store?
We stock attire from a wide variety of designers from all over the world, to give us a vast selection. Gowns by Jane Yeh and Elizabeth de Varga are sophisticated and timelessly cut; Max Chaoul styles are fun and dramatic; Martina Liana, Essense, Demetrios, Hera, Pronovias, Jean Fox and Venus produce gowns in an extensive range of fabrics. We cater to all sizes and celebrate curvy silhouettes.
What's your advice for grooms?
Ideally it's best if the groom calls in for a free consultation, so we can show him the various options and help him with his selection. It can also be useful for the bride to accompany him to assist with the matching of accessories.
